The new performance by the Hungarian State Folk Dance Ensemble, after Bartók and Kodály, once again draws inspiration from Hungarian music, this time from the work of Ferenc Liszt in the Liszt Mosaics performance.
The Liszt mosaics are based on three thematic pillars. All three are quoted directly by Liszt – the emblematic signs of his oeuvre: Liszt, the Hungarian; Liszt, the priest; Liszt, the virtuoso.
In the dance concert – both in the language of music and movements – in addition to Liszt’s works, the finest pieces of Hungarian national romance serv as their inspiration, as well as the works of contemporaries influencing them throughout the performance.
