The Hungarian Culture Year in Israel begins with the biggest event on March 11: Operetta Gala, performed by the Hungarian State Operetta Theater in Budapest, one of the most important European workshops of the genre, as Budapest, along with Vienna, is the home of the operetta genre.

This time, the operetta wizards of Budapest bring the legendary pieces of the genre, such as Johann Strauss’s “Die Fledermaus”, “The Merry Widow” and “The Land of Smiles ” from Ferenc Lehár, “Countess Marica” and “The Duchess of Chicago” by Kálmán, and others.
The dancers of the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble, will join the 80 soloists and the orchestra of the Hungarian State Operetta Theatre specifically for the performances in Israel, presenting the famous Hungarian dances.
